Home appliances that manage water frequently use drain pans for water spillage that is accidental. These pans are put underneath the washer and generally use either side or bottom drains to channel the water from the pan. Drain pans such as these are usually plastic or alternative composite components that leak and crack over time. In the event that you plan on updating your house or laundry area, changing drain pans that are debateable is an easy and inexpensive solution to make sure protection against dated or leaking washers.

Turn the power off and unplug it. Close the cold and warm water faucet valves in the wall where the water-pipes for the washer link. Unscrew the hoses in the fixture and allow the pipes hang in the washer.

Lift the washer drain line in the fixture on the wall. It is not attached to to something, so just raise it from the receptacle and let it hang next to the the washer. Using an assistant to assist you, raise the washer directly. Move it away in the drain pan and set it down.

Unscrew the drain fitting in the inside of the drain pan. It may be to the the medial side, or on the bottom. Use an adjustable pipe wrench to loosen the washers, nut and rubber grommet and take them off. Lift the drain pan out.

Measure the dimensions of the hole in the drain pan. Using cordless drill as well as a drill-bit or hole saw as the hole of the same dimensions, drill a hole in the drain pan in the same place as the old one.

Place the pan in spot where the old one came out, making sure the fitting penetrates which you cut. Rubber grommet and nut, place the washers again on the drain fitting and tighten the wrench being used by them.

Pour water to the pan till the fitting is covered by it . Check for leaks. Tighten the nut before the leak stops for those who have any.

Lift up the washer and place it in the pan. Hook coldwater lines and the warm backup and change on the taps. Place the drain line again in the receptacle. Plug in the washer and change the power-back on.
