I really like rich, saturated and luscious color, and I wasn’t disappointed at Fall 2011’s High Point Market. Colours this year are vibrant and bright. Among my favorite colours is purple, leaning toward the plummy tones. I hope you love purple too, because like it or not, here it comes! If purple just isn’t for you, check out these photographs I shot at High Point this fall to determine which colours are sexy and how to combine them.

I adored this purple, upholstered couch with orange, white and black! When using lots of color, using a healthy dose of white and/or black gives the room some definition — somewhat like punctuation. Additionally at Lillian August showroom at Hickory White.

If you are timid about color, then utilizing a strong black and white motif will make it possible for you to add a hit of color in as little or large a dose as you feel comfortable with. A patterned rug, persimmon pillows and a couple of accessories pack lots of color-power into this vignette. Lillian August showroom at Hickory White.

If glowing orange is too much, you can tone it down into a soft color and blend it with beige and brown for a very warm atmosphere. At Vanguard.

If you enjoyed the first room with its raspberry walls and citron chairs, but you just can not bring yourself to go the complete Monty with all of this color, then this fairly lamp might be just right for you.
